Financials
About your Finance Council—–the budgeting process is happening now. Check out our Parish website at: stmarysalgoma.com for more information about this activity.
This is the time of the year that the Saint Mary Finance Council (SMFC) is working with the Pastoral Council and Our School Administrator /Religious Education Director, and those reporting committees, produce a fiscal year Budget report. This report or budget is submitted to Fr. Bill for his review and approval. This entire process can take up to two months to complete and needs to be completed by April first.
The budget process involves a review of all the many active and possible new accounts that that comprise our Parish Accounting System and involves both income and expense items. It is similar but much more extensive than a home or family budget that many of us are already familiar with.
A good well prepared budget lays the groundwork for the fiscal responsibility in managing the monies that you as parishioners give to your parish. Our Fiscal Year runs from July 1st, to June 30th.
The SMFC members meet in the parish office on the second Tuesday of every month at 5:30 PM. Parish member are welcome to attend these business meetings. While not a member of our Council, our Parish Secretary/Bookkeeper attends our meetings and is an important part of our monthly business review process.
Our SMFC members are as follows:
Jane Michalik-Trustee, Finance
Bill Kenzik-Chair
Rob Anderson
Steve Luedke
Marge Naze
Mary Nelson
Fr. Bill Swichtenberg
