Interested persons meet in small group(s) to enter more deeply into understanding of the Sacred Scriptures. Each group has a coordinator who communicates to the pastoral minister the group’s direction of study, and informs on times and places of group meetings so other interested parishioners can be invited to join.
Persons interested in gathering weekly to pray and discuss some aspect of faith during the Lenten Season. These groups may be led by members of the Pastoral/Educational Team or other trained presenters. A list of interested persons will be kept for contact during Lent.
Those interested in this ministry would assist the pastoral team in preparing for spiritual events. This includes planning the setup of facilities, publicity, hospitality, and preparing any materials needed. It may also include participation in prayer or other areas of presentation during the retreat or mission.
St. Mary School is a fully accredited school educating children from Pre-School through 8th grade. Our Pre-school program has both 3-year old and 4-year old morning classes. Grades 5K through 8th meet full days with a curriculum that includes Religion, Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish Appreciation, Art, Music, Physical Education and Technology. Participation in the Liturgy, daily prayer and faith instruction are integrated throughout the curriculum. St. Mary Parish offers religious education and sacramental preparation for parish students not enrolled in St. Mary School. Classes are held September-May with special family nights during the year. There is an opportunity for parish members to volunteer as catechists to teach these classes or to be an aide.
Gather with children during Sunday morning Mass to talk about the scriptures and work on a project during the liturgy of the word.
